Does Your Truck and Trailer Unit Need a Repaint to Protect it from Rust?

Sandblasting and painting your trucks, trailers, tankers and other vehicles is what we do at Tauranga Sandblasting

We remove grime, rust or old paint from metal surfaces and repaint with an effective protective coating where appropriate. So you can have your vehicles looking good and doing their job for as long as possible.

We are committed to doing the job quickly, and on time, so you can be on the road till the last moment and be back on the road around Tauranga, or Bay of  Plenty and beyond, as scheduled.

It doesn't matter if you use the truck and trailer units for transporting coal or cattle, furniture or food, boats or bitumen, you can entrust it to us and know they will be cared for and come out perfectly ready for years of more use.

Sandblasting and Repainting using Altex, PPG and Akzo International Paint Systems

The team at Tauranga Sandblasting are experts at removing rust, paint, soil, oil, salt or grime build up from metal surfaces – whether on bodywork, stock decks, chassis or moving parts. Abrasive blasting allows us to not only clean surfaces, but to get into all the little nooks and crannies you could never reach by hand or with power tools to clean out the rust and dirt.

Abrasive blasting is also a quick and easy way to clean the wrong fleet colour branding off vehicles and get the substrate ready for a new coat of paint in your correct colours.

Our site in Mt Maunganui is equipped with a 20m x 6m x 6m protected blasting booth, housed inside an even larger clean warehouse and paint shop measuring 60m x 40m x 20m. So we can accommodate even the largest vehicles.

We also have a fully equipped mobile unit we can bring to your place if the vehicle to be abrasive blasted is currently immobile for whatever reason.

Abrasive blasting is only one part of the process to protect your vehicles. More often than not, we follow this up by applying a protective coating or combination of coatings – whether paint or powder coat. We specialise in the use of Altex, PPG and Akzo International paint systems to give your vehicles the best, most practical protection available.

How we meet our responsibilities towards you, our staff and the environment

Despite our name, at Tauranga Sandblasting we don't actually use sand for our blasting. Instead, we use specially imported garnet particles
that are inert and free from the harmful silicates you find in ordinary sand.

The fact that garnet is so inert also means that it contains no particles that may remain behind on the abrasive blasted surface and react with the metal, giving you the assurance that the surfaces we treated will remain in good order for a long time to come.
