Worried that corrosion is eating away at your assets?

Tauranga Sandblasting provides protection from rust

Rust protection is key to what we do at Tauranga Sandblasting. We clean grime, rust or old paint off metal surfaces.

Because we only use garnet – a chemically inert substance – it means that any particles that may remain behind on the
abrasive blasted surface will not react with the metal, seeding rust. So you have the assurance that the surfaces we treated
will remain rust-free for a long time to come.

However, abrasive blasting is only one part of the process to protect your assets.

More often than not, we follow up by applying a protective coating or combination of coatings – whether paint, two-pack or powder coat – on the abrasive blasted surfaces.

Our blasting booth is located alongside a clean, enclosed paint area, so we can apply an industrial grade protective coating to the cleaned surface within less than four hours, while the metal is still pristine.

We specialise in the use of Altex, PPG and Akzo International paint systems to give your machinery the best, most practical protection available.

So you can have your metal structures, vehicles and machines looking good and doing their job for as long as possible.

We make sure we do the job quickly, and on the day and time we said we would. That way our operations have minimal impact on yours.

It doesn't matter if you have a boat or a bulldozer, a tractor or a trailer, a machine part or a collector's piece. You can entrust its rust-proofing to us and know it will be cared for and come out perfectly, ready for years of more use.

What we can do for you

The team at Tauranga Sandblasting are experts at removing rust from metal surfaces. Abrasive blasting allows us to not only clean surfaces, but to get into all the little nooks and crannies to blast away rust.

Our site in Mt Maunganui is equipped with a 20m x 6m x 6m protected blasting booth, housed inside an even larger clean warehouse and paint shop measuring 60m x 40m x 20m. So we can accommodate even large machines or prefabricated structures.

We also have a fully equipped mobile unit we can bring to your site.

How we meet our responsibilities towards you, our staff and the environment

Despite our name, at Tauranga Sandblasting we don't actually use sand for our blasting. Instead, we use specially imported garnet particles that are inert and free from the harmful silicates you find in ordinary sand.

This means if garnet particles find their way into someone's airways despite our thorough precautions, the result is no worse than potential irritation. In case of spillage, garnet has no detrimental effect on the environment.
